This recognition underscores Yantai’s innovative approach to storytelling and its ability to connect with international audiences, showcasing the city’s cultural vibrancy and modern charm.

The award comes on the heels of a report on the overseas influence of Chinese cities (2023), which highlighted Yantai’s comprehensive enhancement of its international connectivity and engagement.

Yantai’s strategic focus on green, low-carbon, and high-quality development, coupled with its openness in global communication, has positioned it as a new symbol of international influence.

Yantai’s success in international communication is attributed to its multi-dimensional strategy, which includes the development of a diverse communication matrix that encompasses multiple languages and platforms, such as the Yantai International Communication Center, the “Discover Yantai” brand, and the bilingual “Openings Enchanting Yantai” magazine. These platforms have been instrumental in amplifying Yantai’s voice on the global stage.

Moreover, Yantai’s effective use of multiple languages and its active engagement on international social media platforms have significantly enhanced its global presence. With five official X (formerly Twitter) accounts and 18 public Facebook pages, Yantai has launched viral campaigns that have resonated with millions of people worldwide, further elevating the city’s international profile.
