On November 20, there was a cultural outreach event themed by “One Village, One Year, One Show” in Hua’an Village, Linyi Town, Linyi County, where enjoyed animated atmosphere. Performances such as the song “Harvest in Sight,” the ribbon dragon show “Golden Dragon Presenting Auspiciousness,” the Lü Opera (of Shandong Province) “Borrowed Husband and Wife,” and the hand-drum performance “Colorful Lights” were staged one after another. More and more villagers gathered around, and the scene was filled with of songs, applause, and laughter.
Since 2023, Linyi County has taken cultural tourism integration as a breakthrough, vigorously implementing the “Cultural People-Benefiting Project”, and actively holding mass cultural activities. This strategic approach has steadily promoted the quality and efficiency of the county’s cultural tourism industry. The county has organized a variety of cultural and entertainment activities, including the Lantern Festival Yangko performance, traditional cultural exhibitions, square dance performances, choir performances, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and the first International Beer Festival. These events have enriched the spiritual and cultural life of urban and rural residents.
On September 26, at the Yellow River Grand Fair in Su’an Township, Aunt Li, who came to the fair, exclaimed: “We, the elderly, love going to the fair. It’s so lively, with so much delicious food and fun. I’m nearly dazzled at all these things!” It is understood that the theme of this Yellow River Grand Fair was “Happy Shopping in Su’an, Enjoying the Event” The fair deeply integrates sales exhibition, performances, entertainment, etc., which featured high-quality artistic performances, parent-child interactive amusements, specialty agricultural product sales, and other activities to provide a new shopping and leisure experience for the public at their doorstep in the golden autumn.
In 2023, the “weekend economy” and “cultural people-benefiting activities” continue to go viral. Linyi County organized more than 50 events, covering the Cultural Tourism People-Benefiting Season and the Yellow River Grand Fair, which drove the participation of over 20 local cultural tourism enterprises through the government-established cultural tourism platforms. By distributing consumer vouchers, the county boosted consumer confidence, thus activating the cultural tourism market.
Furthermore, the county achieved full coverage in promoting cultural people-benefiting activities. It organized 100 “Yi-Gou-Gou” Opera special performances, 80 festive “Rural Evening Gala” events, 60 cultural performances in squares and scenic areas, and a total of over 1,000 cultural and artistic events. The creation of the “Plow City with Ancient Charm − Encountering Weekly Theaters”, a weekend theater cultural brand stage traditional cultural exhibitions, bringing traditional culture closer to the public. To date, more than 100 events have been organized under the call of this initiative.
